Jenny awarded an NSERC USRA
Jenny has been awarded a highly competitive NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Award to conduct a summer research project in the lab. Jenny has been volunteering in the McFarLab since last year and we’re excited that she’ll be around this summer to conduct an independent research project!

Heather joins the editorial team at eLife
Heather has joined the editorial team at eLife as a member of the Board of Reviewing Editors in the Plant Biology and Cell Biology sections. eLife is an open access journal, well-known for its own style of open review processes and transparent not-for-profit status. Recently, they have been establishing exciting initiatives to promote development of early career scientists. Consider submitting a paper there!

Natalie has been awarded an NSERC Scholarship!
Natalie has been awarded a prestigious NSERC Canada Graduate Scholarship to support her PhD studies in the McFarLab.

Two new PhD students join the lab today: Natalie Hoffmann, who recently completed her MSc with Lacey Samuels at the University of British Columbia and Eduardo Ramírez Rodríguez, who recently finished his Masters of Biotechnology at the University of Melbourne working with Josh Heazlewood and Staffan Persson.
